Antropov Theme for Wordpress

December 28th, 2007 · 4 Comments

Antropov ScreenshotAfter months of tinkering I've decided to bite the bullet and release my in-progress Wordpress theme -- Antropov. As fussy as I am, it isn't as polished as I'd like but it is completely usable and bug-free (so far as I can tell!)

Antropov Theme is built on top of Cutline 2.0 by Chris Pearson. The theme was inspired by Brian Gardner's Revolution News. Brian has created a very professional package in Revolution, and I encourage you to purchase a copy if you're looking for advanced layout features and support.

Special thanks are due to Brian for 'blessing' the release of Antropov despite the obvious visual cues borrowed from Revolution!

Some of the general features include:

  • 3-column widget-ready sidebar layout for Wordpress
  • Optional 'double column' sidebar area for advertisements
  • Optional 'double column' sidebar area for tags (handy if you've got lots of tags on your site)
  • Navigation bar (pages-based)
  • Valid XHTML and CSS

If you have any comments (good, bar, or indifferent), feel free to comment in this entry or drop me a line.

I'd love to give this a try on my blog, but I'd prefer to have the full blog post show on the main page. Where would I need to edit the code? Or could you modify one of the PHP files for me so that this would work? I'd like to go live tomorrow if possible, so please shoot me an e-mail or feel free to AIM me (AIM user name: nofactzone).

Never mind - figured it out. I made some minor mods to the template (added a Recent Posts in place of the tags) and tweaked the sidebars, but it looks FANTASTIC! Thanks for your work with this template!

DB: Glad you like it. I took a look at the site, and I expect I'll be a regular reader based on what I've seen so far!

I love how you combined my two favorite templates, and my site looks SO much better! I've been quite unhappy with my template for months, so to find one that was the perfect color scheme, and that I could modify in 3-4 hours to fit every need I had, has made me as happy as a little girl!

And I'm glad you like the site - it really is the #1 Stephen Colbert fan site on the web. And it's featuring your template! Rock on!
