A few months ago I received an email from a publishing company that I'd never heard of asking if I'd sell one of my photographs to a magazine I'd never heard of. What could possibly go wrong?
It turns out that the unknown publication was the in-flight magazine for WestJet airlines. They were in need of a picture of Port Hood Beach in Nova Scotia for an upcoming article on 'Canada's Best Beaches'.
Apparently I'm one of the only individuals on the planet to have taken a camera to Port Hood Beach, and thanks to Google, it was relatively obvious with zero effort on my part. After a few email pleasantries, I ended up with a cheque and they ended up with a picture.
A few more sales would cover my rent, and after that I could seriously start thinking about quitting my job. If you need any shots of Highway 17 or a 1993 Nissan 240SX, feel free to get in touch with me.

Excellent work, D! You know, I always said that your photos of that bizarre plant (Doll's Eyes) were the best ones I found on the 'net. I looked all over for info on it and the photos I saw were lame.

How did they find your picture in the first place?
