Macrovision
The thumbnails above represent two new galleries of photographs I took yesterday — one set from the Ottawa Experimental Farm Arboretum (mostly flowers), and another from the Remic River Rapids (stone sculptures). Click either thumbnail to view the respective gallery.
The following individual pictures represent some of my favourite shots from the day. One noticable difference between the new and old cameras is the number of ‘gold’ photos — I could expect maybe one or two nice shots per batch of ~30 pictures from my last camera, whereas this camera increases that ratio dramatically.
Let me know what you think!

Gorgeous! Have you edited the photos at all (aside from cropping)? I’ll pull up the EXIF data later to see which settings you used. The colors are just brilliant.
The camera certainly seems to live up to its reputation - I’m slightly envious!! ;)
No editing aside from some levels adjustments for shadows. No EXIF data, either, since they came out in raw format rather than JPEG.
The colours are half good camera and half me playing with white balance settings. I got some pretty good results during my experimentation.
Thanks for the kind words, by the way. :)
About the gold photos, maybe, just maybe, it’s because your skills are improving and it has nothing to do with the camera. That or you’re much more motivated with your new toy and it enhances your vision.
Fabulous photos! I can understand your struggling with the SLR learning curve. I’m eight months and I still don’t know what all the controls do.
Beautiful shots, Dennis-you should send your stuff along to the Canadian Wildlife Services monthly Photo Contest. I’d vote for you :)
Excellent photos. On another note, taking photos of flowers is an indication that you are finally embracing your homosexuality! :)
Heh.
