I decided that I’d buy into the mysterious world of emo sensibilities and horn-rimmed glasses by snapping up an iPod mini. For a simple guy from Canada, this is easier said than done — they simply aren’t sold in Canada.

After speaking to Apple in May, I was told to wait until early April. Apple Canada informed me today that they “don’t know” when (or if!) if will be released in Canada at all. Two local Mac stores are claiming a July availability timeframe.

Apple can count on one thing, at least — not getting my business. I could probably have a US co-worker pick one up for me, but maybe I’ll buy some kind of competing device just to spite them…
