Trustworthy Computing
I’m certainly not in possession of the infamous leaked Windows source code package, but if I were, I could tell you that I would have spent the day sifting through bits of it.
Further, I’d estimate that it’d be a fascinating glimpse into the root of Microsoft’s monopoly. I’d be surprised to find questionable (and non-consistent) coding standards, more kludges than could be easily counted, and code dating back 10 years or more.
I would have also verified the whole “littered with profanity” accusation (and found it to be true, though slightly exaggerated).
On a somewhat related note, I had a good laugh about Microsoft’s Free Security Posters. Said one security mailing list member: “I thought I was looking at a website defacement for a second.”
