The Pit of Penultimate Darkness
In official “what the hell?” news, John Ashcroft says that war in Iraq was justified because Dr. Evil Saddam Hussein didn’t appreciate that:
“…weapons of mass destruction, including evil chemistry and evil biology, are all matters of great concern, not only to the United States, but also to the world community”.
You know, I almost feel bad for old John. He’s had a bad day, what with the ruling that portions of the Patriot Act are unconstitutional. No shit.
Keeners win extra points for correctly identifying Sir Simon Milligan (no Hecubus, sorry) in the picture above. EVIL!!

Not that I want to stand up for John Ashcroft (or by any means endorse the Patriot Act), but he has little cause for shaking in his boots just yet. Merely a California district judge’s opinion…many rings of appeal to go through before it affects Mr. Ashcroft in reality.
The law spoils all my fun. Besides, once Arnold gets wind of it (and has it explained to him with the aid of a picture book), he’ll take care of it.
Sorry kid…court was in CA, but it was federal, not state. Arnold’s big ole mitts can’t touch it. At least there’s some hope…
Federal and state are separate. I get it now — kinda like how church and state are separate, right? :)
You wiley law-dogs, you.
