I really did it this time. If you noticed that the site was a little crazy earlier today, here’s why:

After failing to heed Christine’s warning from an earlier post, I got cocky and figured I might try to “improve” bits and pieces of CSS, Movable Type, and other back-end code that makes this site work.

Witness the power of my automatic CSS code generation idea (scroll down for full effect). In case you’re wondering, the code used to generate that page was scrapped. It did give me a keen idea for an internally replicating CSS “virus”, though!

Skip forward a day — sifting through my backups, manually picking important code out of a MySQL database dump, and rewriting serveral Movable Type templates — everything seems to be back to normal.

I humbly apologize to the gods of uptime for my sins.
