In official “what the…?!” news, Metallica is suing some unknown Canadian band for using the chords E and F in combination.
Please tell me this is Lars’ version of clever satire. Somebody. Please?

I read the related article on your site, and I would have to agree with your assessment.
The unqiue situation itself probably helped the rumour along, though. The fact that the story seemed feasible at all says something about Metallica (and the music business in general).
It reminds me of the fiasco that saw John Fogerty being sued for plagaizing himself…
