In July I noted that the iTunes 7.3.1 update (from 7.2) caused the application to refuse to start under OSX. My solution at the time was to downgrade back to 7.2 using the installer from OldApps.com.

OSX has no problem reading Microsoft NTFS-formatted disks, but writing to them is another story. I need this functionality to work with various external drives and USB keys that need to be shared with Windows machines.

In what is becoming a commonplace event, an upgrade borked my copy of iTunes. Specifically, the v7.3.1 upgrade rendered iTunes completely unusable. Coincidentally, that version adds activation support for the iPhone (which I don't have, need, or want). Go figure.
