After what seems like (and actually has been) ages since my last post, I’ve decided to resurrect this site from the ashes and make it somewhat livable again. The design of the weblog and gallery have both been reworked. Combined with some back-end changes, I should be back on track to post more regularly.

One of main reasons I abandoned things was that it was becoming increasingly frustrating to maintain the site. Movable Type, the software I’ve used to run things here since 2002, underwent a significant change in recent versions that affects the way display templates are handled. I find the ‘new way’ cumbersome and I’ve never taken the time to learn them properly.

I’ve been a loyal Movable Type user for years, and so it was only after much agonising and delay that I made the switch to Wordpress. The new software is less ‘fussy’ and should allow to me get back to the business of posting more and worrying less about how things work.

So, with some new tools and renewed motivation in hand, let’s see how long it takes me to break this resolution…
